Once again we are calling walkers of the shaman's
path to gather in Circle for the explicit purpose
of renewing the world through offerings and ceremony.
In cultures throughout the Northern Hemisphere,
October is a special time. Shamanic activities
focus on harvesting and give-away. Special attention
is paid to Blessing and Thanksgiving Ceremonies.
All beings know that which we have harvested shall
be our source of Winter's provisions and seed
for flowering in the Spring.
This is primarily the time of harvest, blessing
and thanksgiving ceremonies for all the people,
and those are our governing themes: as with other
shamanic peoples in the world, this is the time
to bring in the Canoes, laden with provisions
to share -- or those empty which need filling
for the coming winter. This is the time we renew
our bonds with all relations and deepen our awareness
of their medicines. Through such renewal shall
we enter the Cold Maker months, both without and
within, and carry fireside stories to share with
the circles in our homelands.
During our last two international gatherings,
we have created World Maps in the desert sand...
and around these maps have we done our Circle
ceremonies. Last Oracle, Turtle occupied the Center
of the World Map. In the center of Turtle's back
was planted the World Tree. Turtle has continued
to appear among many of us with different messages
about Earth healing and Oracle. We know we shall
be creating a world map and that some particular
attention we shall be giving to Turtle.
Since our last gathering, Iniskim has emerged
in our midst. We know this sacred Stone Being
is important and more about Iniskim can be found
on our web site. What's essential to know is that
this stone has been used by humans for thousands
of years and came forth from the cracks between
the worlds two years ago in October. At Oracle
we shall discover how she wishes to work with
us. Already we know this collaboration includes
hearing her song, dreaming together and waking
at first light to the presence of Buffalo.
